Another dream

We were out for dinner as a family, 4 of us
We had prawns and crabs, oh yum!

After the meal, Dad was driving home
Mom was in the passenger’s seat
Bro and I were in the backseat, and I was behind Dad

In my dream, I knew he’s gone
He’s just back for a meal with us
So I hugged him from the back
and I looked at him. His face. His hair.
He was just as I last saw him 3 months ago.
And I didn’t wanna look away, because I know I don’t have much time

Then he slowly faded away.

And I sobbed myself awake.
