Ever lost an argument, only to realise hours later what you could have said?

Happens to me all the time.

But I choose to believe that I don't have the natural ability/tendency to disregard the argument of others and defend my own judgement blindly, but instead think through the validity of the other party's point of view before firing a stubborn statement. :)

Too bad, I think the world is made up of the other kind of people.

I need a break

You know what?

I kinda just realised what I really dread the most about this job.

I really freakin hate OT. I really hate having to spend another half an hour or so preparing the logistics for the next day, after a long and tiring day of being out and about. It never ends, does it?

It's neccessary, yes. But not for me.

I could really use a break. I'm thinking of heading up to Genting for Christmas, but daddy says no :(
I'm upset, really.

Emo

Wen is all work and she's sick of this. And she wonders what is the point of it all?

I need more offdays than this. I'm sick of answering to humans, and I really think I'm better off facing animals instead. I'm feeling like I should be elsewhere, but where? Doing what?

Been lying in bed for the past hour or so, and I really can't help but feel frustrated and trapped by the current situation.

It's not bad, but I guess I'm just spoilt and simply unwilling to be caught and tied down, like what the rest of the world is doing... There is always a choice, but I guess it's always harder for an ordinary human to take a risk and make a change.

Perhaps it's PMS. But i wish someone would understand... especially YOU.

Waiting for Yami Yoghurt to open

It's OFFDAY again! :D

Today, I plan to stay home, relax, chill out, pack my room (at least a little!), do a photo collage for my laptop's wallpaper and research about a room theatre system!

That should be quite a lot of things to do for an offday, I think...

Right now, I'm waiting for YAMI Yoghurt to open! Went to Junction 8 yesterday, and realised that there's a new outlet there, but I was sooo full after lunch that I forgot to buy YAMI...

Ok I'm disappearing!

Finally, the weekend is over

It's been a hectic yesterday,
and I've been crazy driving both today & yesterday.
Today's been crazy shouting at rowdy kids.

I'm so glad the weekend is over.

Registration for Skirmish Ops is closing on Wednesday..

Am just feeling strange, like not a single friend is supportive of this, not even a bit.

Anyway, I've been craving for Yami Yoghurt for the longest time. WHEN!?

Lonely Night

It's a lonely night in the office! and i'm really not used to being without you..
Spent hours preparing for the busy tomorrow, and I can't wait to get it over and done with.
Am staying in the office tonight because it's an early day tomorrow, and I don't have a car, and I'm simply too lazy to bus home and back again tomorrow morning.
And now, I'm facebooking. Got into the craze the day before yesterday and I'm starting to get bored of it again...

I wanna get a home theatre system in my room!
And I want to make a real photo collage on my wall!
I should really clear up the mess in my room and start working towards all these otherwise it'll never ever happen...

Okay, I'm already feeling sleepy, but I've yet to shower! Yes yes, I'm gone now.

Philippines in January makes me goddamn happy.

2009 organizers

I just went 2009organizer-shopping yesterday, and was utterly disappointed with what I found in Book Binders! Covers were not pretty at all, unlike what I saw in 2007.

So I went to Kinokuniya and Takashimaya and finally got something that I'm only 60% satisfied with.

Today, I got home and found that my dad has left a OCBC organizer that looks even better than what I spent $20 on. And it has all the holiday dates which would come in super useful.

Sigh. There goes my $20 bucks!

Ranting entry

Wen can't stand...

1. drivers who park their cars out of their lots, whether its due to ignorance or selfishness

2. people who need to talk on the phone instead of reply emails

Wen wants to get...

1. PDA phone (suggestions please, other than iphone & omnia) I just found the HTC Touch HD and it's lookin pretty damn gorgeous!!! Doesn't look like it's in Singapore yet, but I hope it doesn't cost a bomb. :D

BORINGGG

Bored.

Nothing amuses me. There's nothing fun to do. All I do is eat sleep and work. Even in my free time after work, there's nothing fun to do! But I don't want to go to bed early, even though I'm dog tired! Sleeping is a waste of time! But all I do other than work is eat and drink.

I've recently decided to start running & swimming regularly and I'm going to buy my running shoes tomorrow :)

Now that's something else to do, but I think I need something else that's less tiring...

Ok. I'm really bored. I shall take a nap now!

Skirmish Ops 2008: Clash of the Trios

Hey there!

Check out Combat Skirmish's latest happening! They will be organising an introductory league tournament this December!

Combat Skirmish is a team-focused sport akin to playing a real-life combat simulation game (think "Counterstrike"). You will be running around, dodging your opponents' fire, and shooting them down, as well as achieving objectives and missions. The combat game style of Combat Skirmish has been influenced in playing style by computer games, and the technology is an offshoot of indoor laser tag arenas.

In many respects, Combat Skirmish combines the best aspects of both indoor arena laser tag and paintball. They currently have 12 different types of guns to choose from: the small handy pistol and light-weighted Spitfire are popular among ladies and children, while the heavy-duty Commando Carbine and S7 work as excellent weapons for the more adventurous.

On 6 December, they will be gathering people of common interest to have a battle at East Coast Park. As 'Clash of the Trios' suggests, all you need is a team of 3 players and a low fee of $50 per team! You will be playing at least 2 games and after which, knock-off rounds and eventually, the final battle! There are prizes worth $1500 to be won!!

Sounds exciting? Log on to http://www.combatlasersingapore.com/skirmishops2008/index.html to sign up now!!

I'll see you at the battlefield!

10 tips for visiting Bali

(disclaimer: accurate at time of writing)

Alright, I've been back for more than a week now. It's time I blogged about it!

1) Bring your own adapter converter plugs. For some reason, their hotels don’t have the all-in-one sockets. They use the two big round kinds...

2) If you want to see Manta Rays, go to Manta Point. If you want to see Mola-mola, go to Crystal Bay. We’ve had some luck there :)

Didn't manage to get a photo of the Mola, because it only appeared briefly twice. But the manta-rays were gorgeous! So majestic and celebrity-like... Everyone was just hanging around and waiting for its appearance... The photos don't do any justice to how graceful they are!

3) Stay at Nikko Bali Resort, and opt for the Nikko Club rooms. It might be expensive, but it’s damn worth the money J Excellent service! Free flow of snacks, beer, tea, coffee and juice all day; free flow of cocktail and wine from 5-7pm.

Check out their list of services for the Nikko Club members! :)

Look at the bottom right photo... They even arrange the sand on the ashtray to look like their logo!!

Pictures from the Nikko Club Lounge, and DAMN YUMMY MUSHROOMS!!

Our room, and watching the sunrise from our room.

Camel Safari

4) Change your SGD to USD in Singapore, then change your USD to Rupiah while you’re there. While we were at Kuta, the best exchange rate we got was 9495, although most were selling at 9295 and 9395.

5) We did our water sports with Mawar Kuning; my opinion? Rather shabby. However, these are things you’ve got to try, so BARGAIN. They actually have an ‘asian’ discount, which was 40% off the printed rates. Printed rates range from $15-$25 USD for 15 minutes depending on the activity. We managed to get 50% off the total amount, and we did jet ski, fly fish, banana boat and wakeboarding. The jet ski sucked!! We were not allowed to share a jet ski, but had a staff ride with each of us, and it didn’t even last for a full 15 minutes. Fly fish is quite a new and interesting experience (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eOWgR2dZsA), banana boat was rather boring (I had my eardrums blasted by the girl behind me), wakeboarding was TIRING but fun! I wanna go wakeboarding!

6) Before you hop on a taxi, make sure the driver agrees to pay by meter. There’s a sticker in some of the cabs that say there’s a minimum charge of 15,000RP if you call for a cab, so do note that it does NOT apply for street pick ups.

7) Save 150,000RP for taxes when you’re leaving the country.

8) Just BARGAIN! We’ve had several super cheap buys because when we said we were leaving, then they agreed to sell at the price that we offered… Haha.

Braided my hair for 70,000RP, and you might even be able to find something cheaper than that. She actually asked me for tips after that, so you might wanna bargain for cheaper, and say if it’s good, then you’ll give tips later.

9) Check your games or dvds when you’re buying them. 3 out of 5 of our buys don’t work!

10) Wherever you stay, avoid "Puri Kosala Cottages".

Check out the fucking weird way the door is locked, from both inside and outside! Damn old school... And I've no clue to why there are two toilet bowls in one toilet, and why the bath tub is smacked in the middle of the room...

Had supper at a rather posh beach restaurant, and we ordered seafood soup. It's a bit strange; it came in a block like you see in the first picture, and then the waiter poured the soup in. I don't know what's that block of stuff even after eating it.

-

I finally managed to install Mystery Case Files: Huntsville onto my computer, and we completed it within a night! That was fun.

But while I was trying to download the crack onto my computer, it seems I might have downloaded some virus as well. Now I keep getting pop-ups and my sysem is getting laggy. I really hope it doesn't get any worse... Now I'm trying to download free spyware/adware removers, but seems like nothing is free.

Sigh.

Hibernating makes me happy...

TIRED. AGAIN.

I'm so tired!

Bintan last weekend was indescribable.
I was so mentally tormented by the result of my own carelessness, yet there was nothing I could do then, on the spot.
But anyway, I've got many people to thank- the ones who faced and cleared the shit for me. Thanks!

Sunday was good though, as work cleared by Saturday. Swam and tanned, and boy did it feel good to sip on cocktail at a poolbar on a scorching afternoon. Looking forward to more of that from Tuesday onwards :)

Got home early yesterday and slept at 11am for the first time in 8348132 years! (go and buy 4d)
Yet I'm still SO TIRED today, especially after a super filling lunch at Sushi Tei.
But the mj-crazy colleagues are dying to play mj, and I can't escape, cause they haven't got enough 'ka's.
Oh well, luckily my schedule's pretty light this weekend.
I could use a good rest.

Ah. I can't wait to rest & play. Really. Wen is not born to work. She gets extremely tired and frustrated when she feels like she has no choice.

Encule!

I was out running some errands today, and while driving, I was thinking about what a bad day I'm having, after getting pissed off by one asshole of a client and some other person.

Then I drove past 2 car accidents and thought, hey, i's not that bad, at least I'm not in a car accident.

And then... *CRASH* !!!!

Ok, I'm just kidding about the last part.

But really, I just really wanna complain about how annoyed I get because I think that I'm being taken for granted, although whatever happened is a really small matter. Maybe I'm just tired, or maybe I'm bored. Perhaps I'm stressed up and hypersensitive lately.

But anyway, I'm looking on the bright side.

I didn't get into a car accident despite being a hazard on the road.

Bintan tomorrow, Bali in 11 days! :) Just when I needed a break. I can't wait.

Broken

The result of holding too many things.

To think I kept the protective layer on for so long, until I finally decided to remove it yesterday because I thought I've been taking rather good care of the laptop. And today, I dropped the laptop bag in the lift.

I'm upset.

Tang Dynasty, Singapore

Paid Tang Dynasty a visit a couple of weeks ago. I've never been to Tang Dynasty while it was in operation.

Seems like they're in the process of tearing it down, and what I've heard is that it'd be gone come March 2009, 10 years after it's closure.

So before it's gone, here are some pictures to remember it by.

Super torn down and dilapidated, as you can see...
Can't imagine being in here on a thunderstorm night. *shivers*

The signs that were still lying around after almost a decade

On a side note, my goodness. The things Singaporeans complain about. Nothing better to do sia.

I'm sorry that I'm stereotyping and I'm sorry if I offend fellow Singaporeans. But I'm not sorry for blasting this idiot who posted this on STOMP. What is the point!?

Theme Hospital Frenzy

I didn't end up watching Gossip Girls!

I got myself onto shockwave.com and started to play some games, until this Sara's Super Spa got me addicted for like 2 hours.

And it SO reminds me of this old school game Theme Hospital!!!!

So, the very next day, I went on the internet and searched for its download! Managed to get it on my Vista, but it is super laggy. Apparantly it is not very compatible with Vista, so now I'm using my brother's XP, and download is in process.

HOPEFULLY IT WORKS! :D

IT WORKS!! YAY!!!!!!!!! I'm off to play! :D

Boring Saturday

Freaking boring day!

Thank goodness my cousin was craving for waffles and asked me out to icekimo, and I found company for dinner. Otherwise, I would have spent the last 28 hours at home!

That's a record for me, since I don't remember when.

I really hope I'll be able to sleep tonight, because I took a nap in the afternoon. Wine, anybody?

I shall watch Gossip Girls.

BORED

Ok. I'm sick of doing work. I just suddenly decided to click on the X on the top right corner of my screen and quit working.

And I'm utterly bored.

No incoming mails reminds me that it is Friday night, and I ought to be out, but no, I'm at home, feeling bored after getting sick of work.

Looking back at it, it's been a rather sickening week of buring myself in work, to keep myself occupied so that time would pass faster.
And no, this is not the reason imu. iluimyht.
Suddenly my Mini dream seems to have drifted further away again.

And suddenly, September feels like its going to come too slowly but go too quickly. I can hardly wait for eternal peace, rest and bliss. Ok, this sounds like I can't wait to die, but no, I just can't wait to retire. Yes I know you're thinking, aren't you a tad too young to be thinking of retirement already!?

Maybe it's PMS.

Should I sleep? Or should I watch something on DVD? Tomorrow is looking like a day with no agenda. Ah, I dunno. Sigh.

My name is Superbored. Hurhur...

A time-machine would make me happy......

Oh, I quite recently discovered how great Picasa Web Albums is.

1) You can actually download a whole album, so it's really good for sharing photos with your friends, unlike in Photobucket or Facebook. (I mean, Facebook is just for showing off your glamourous life to people who don't know you personally. You still end up having to send the entire folder to your friends over MSN or something.)

2) Not to forget that it allows you to upload massive amounts of photos at one shot, unlike Facebook, which only allows you like 56 photos, right?

3) Plus, it's so convenient to insert captions to your photos, and it automatically saves the caption when you click on the next column.

4) It even provides you with the coding to embed a slideshow of an album! Just like what I have to the right of this column!

Picasa's proving to be pretty impressive too. It's really easy to browse through and locate pictures.

I love the collage tool! Saves me so much trouble and time of collaging all my photos in photoshop, and it's so easy because I can just select the photos from the Picasa library, click on the collage button, and there you go! A collage!

My only complaint: The BlogThis! function seems to be buggy. I can only post 4 photos, even though I selected more than that, and the 1st picture doesn't even appear properly. I upload my photos through Blogger itself, which can be rather messy, because when I click 'Done' after uploading the pictures, they appear on top of all the text that I've typed. Plus I really hate paragraph tags (< p >)!! Doesn't < b r > work much better? Argh, I really hate messy HTML codings.

-

Ok, I think I've wasted enough time and I'm starting to feel sleepy. Great! Good night and I'm glad Friday has ended! :)

Days of my life, Cheeky Chocolates

Combat Skirmish Super Heroes party @ Dempsey
Too cute for words!

It's been a rather hectic week, and I'm more than glad that it's Friday and the week's coming to an end. I can't wait for the new week to start!

It is ironic that I love working on an offday because I get to work out of the office. I'm slowly turning into a workaholic, I think...

So far, my favourite locations are McCafe and Cheeky Chocolates!

Cheeky Chocolates = great service, nice ambience, free wireless access. Great place to chill or work alone!
Best thing, is that it is on Upper Thomson Road, super near my house. :D

Cheeky Chocolate's version of Dark Devotion (it's called something else, which I can't remember). I personally think it's even better than TCC's. It's crispy on the outside!

Anyway, I bumped into this random girl yesterday and she looked at me with a very weird expression. She noticed that I noticed, so this was our conversation.

Wen: Why're you looking at me like that? (I know it sounds a bit rude, but
actually I said it in a laughing manner)

C: Er... You look like a friend...

Wen: Oh... I see.

and I thought ok, look like only lah. And that was going to be the end of the conversation. Then she continued.

C: Your name is not Yiwen right?

Wen: HUH? Yes I'm Yiwen!! Who are you!? I don't recognise you at
all!

C: Kua Yiwen? I'm your primary 1 classmate...

I'm damn amazed that her memory is SO GOOD! I don't think I look very much like myself in primary 1 now, really. She even remembers my full name, can you believe it! Hahaha... Her name sounds quite familiar though... But just quite. Hahaha...

-

Girl talk with the aunt and cousin couple of nights ago. My aunt's real skinny, and she was describing this one time years ago when she fattened up.

Man, I had BOOBS! And they were BOUNCING up and down when I walked!

LOL.

I CAN SMELL MY MINI DREAM

I found this FUCKING GORGEOUS CAR. It's the perfect colour, perfect design.

I was tempted, until I saw the registration date. Then I told myself, I've GOT TO GET THIS.

Tell me this car is simply made FOR ME. The registration date falls on MY BIRTHDAY. Isn't it made for me!??!

Bugged my dad and he finally agreed to consider. He's going to get his friend who's knowledgable in cars to go with me to take a look at THE car.

OMG... I'm fucking excited!

-

In other very pleasing news, I'm going to Bintan in September. For work. :D

Today is a GREAT DAY!!!

TODAY makes me FUCKING HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dream

Had a strange dream...

Singapore and France were in the finals of the Guinness World Book of Records, and I somehow ended up with Xt and Ikhsan (wth!?) at the competition ground. We were put on a ship and we were sitting next to each other, holding each others hands because we were very excited. We were in for a good show.

The show started and Singapore's underwater underground Disneyland was first to be featured. What got this into the Book of Records is that it was the deepest construction ever to be built. The ship rotated sideways like a roller coaster ride, transformed into a submarine and submerged into water in seconds, and started to descend at an alarming speed. I wanted to equalize but noticed there wasn't a need to.

We travelled through lots of impressive architecture and stopped at this area where we were allowed to roam about for some time before we moved on. I was intrigued by this movie screening where we were put in a room that makes you float, like in scuba diving. Everyone has a screen right in front of them and you're supposed to hover at your spot in order to watch your movie. I stopped there for a short while, then left to get on to the next place that we were going, but then I remembered that I had to buy souvenirs for my friends. So I went to the area with all the shops, of which many were book stores. Happened to meet Vivien, Abby, Pris and Weiwei there. I found a pen with Disney logo, and shortlisted it as one of the possible gift.

And then, the phone rang, and I woke up. Too short!

-

Mj tournament going on right now. I was the big loser of the first round, but whatever! Hahaha... Let's see who's the big winner by the end of the night. Heh.

Crazy colleagues make me happy... Hahaha

Slideshow is up!

I am so annoyed!!!

As you know, I spent 4 hours last night picking out my favourite photos and uploaded them onto Picasa.

I just realised that some of the photos that I picked have disappeared! Or rather, it seems like I didn't even paste them into the folder of pictures that I was planning to upload. Those that we took in Phuket and USA are completely gone! I'm so annoyed with myself. How the hell did that happen!?

Now I gotta browse through all the photos again to select those that I missed out... RAHHH. It's tedious, you know...

But anyway, the slideshow is up... to the right >>>> Enjoy... :)

The Best Memories. all mine.

I just spent the past 4 hours picking out the best bits of my photo collection from the past 4 years or so.

It's been damn nice reminiscing and I'm thinking that maybe I should be somewhere else. Not here in Singapore. Maybe Europe, maybe USA, maybe the Maldives. Not just holidaying, you know, but living there, having a job... Something like that.

I'm still young eh, but not for long. (Reminds me of the Britney Spears song that goes "I'm not a girl, not yet a woman..." LOL.) If I wanna do something different, it should probably be now.

I actually wanted to post the slideshow on my blog tonight, but it's gonna take over an hour to upload. And look at the freakin time now. So you shall watch this space (watch!) while I go get some snooze.

Off day tomorrow :)

Travelling makes me darnnn happy :)

Oh yeah, another thing. ZOVB is having a Public Roll-down Session this coming Sunday the 10th, so if you're curious and you wanna try it out, drop us a message on the website :)

Me time

Took a long walk from Bishan back home.
Reckon I had already missed my last bus, and I wasn't in a hurry to get home, plus I'm always reluctant donate my cash to cabbies.

Found out that there's wine tasting just 5 minutes walk away from home!

And checked out (from far) the new MRT station at my doorstep. Marymount Station!
I'm excited. I've never lived so near a train station before! Can't wait for it start servicing...
Takes me a step further away from my Mini Dream.
Hahaha...

I need a new sudoku book.

It's a bit early for PMS, but people are like taking turns to annoy me. Rarrr...

Ok, I'm super sleepy. So its good night.

Me time makes me happy :)

Happy Offday

Soaked in the sun for close to 3 hours
and I think I'm only like 20% darker.
Haha... Oh well, better than nothing!

Today's been great so far:
Met up with the babes for dimsum brunch (it was nice reminiscing), went home and swam then played sudoku while tanning :)
Feels like a healthy lifestyle huh.

Looking forward to the rest of the day...
I like off days where I'm occupied with happy things to do!

Actually, I was planning to finish up some overdue work, but I left my laptop in the car! I swear I didn't do that on purpose, but yeah, it's a good thing. Haha. At least I'm enjoying myself instead of burying myself in work again.

On a side note, I'm hopelessly addicted to sudoku.

And I really cannot wait to dive. (Yes, I know I've said this more than once!)
Babes, please go learn diving soon and let's go diving together someday!!!
See ya'll on Friday :)

Tanning makes me happy!

Another dream

Okay, I've decided to work towards something else that I want, other than my Mini dream.

This one is much more affordable and achievable, and I'm really looking forward to it.

I want my own home theatre system in my room! Just imagine lying in my cosy bed, watching DVD on my projector tv with the curtains drawn. So enjoy...

But I really need to pack and clear up the mess in my room before I embark onto it. Man I wish it wasn't so hard (emotionally) to throw things away.

-

Today didn't end on a very good note.

Work ended a little late for everyone else, but super late for me! Almost the entire PIE was jammed and it really sucked that I had to travel from West Coast to Changi Beach. And it really didn't help that the van was running low on diesel so I had to waste time to go pump it up.

Missed sending Sean off and I don't know when I'll see him again. Sorry dude.

Tomorrow WILL be a better day.

Honeymoon

Ever since I could remember, my ideal honeymoon would be a backpacking trip.
Those who know have said I'm crazy, but let me explain myself.
I find it perfectly sensible and meaningful even.

I dunno, but I'm guessing for majority, a honeymoon would be a laidback and chill trip to somewhere like Maldives or Bali, or something along that line. Somewhere more to the resort and beach kinda place, so that you can spend loads of time with your honey doing nothing. Or something.

But I imagine going to places like that every year, not just for my honeymoon, so that doesn't make my honeymoon special anymore! And how many times in your life would you go backpacking, considering the amount of time you'd have to fork out? Not more than 3 times, I reckon, but I've already gone for about 3 of such resort-ish trips. I really think a backpacking honeymoon would be a fun start to a marriage.

Ah, I miss diving! So sad that I can't go this time round. :( Everytime I look at the old photos I miss the past, and then I start to look forward to the future and I cannot wait.

September Bali makes me happy!!!

Floating mind

Feeling sleepy already, but it's so freakin early!

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Ok, I typed that like one and a half hour ago.

-

I wish my mind would stop floating around.

I can't exactly put words to how it feels, but it's like my mind's never grasping vital information, and I have trouble remembering things. Like even when I remind myself countless times beforehand, or when I go through in my mind what I need to bring, I almost always do end up leaving something out.

I'll give an example, I think you'd go 'What the hell!' a few times in a row.

A few days ago, I forgot to bring my bag (yes, my BAG) home from the office, so when I got to the lobby of my apartment, I rang the bell to ask my brother to let me up. Right after I rang the bell, it hit me that I left my laptop in the car (which I reminded myself several times when I was driving home)! But I had to go up, because I already rang my brother, so I did, and put down whatever mess I had in my arms, took the house key from him and went back down to the carpark. As I was walking towards the car, I realised that I forgot to take the damn car key.

And really, I do try. But sometimes, it's just tiring trying to be alert all the time.

Off day

I AM SO BORED!!

It's off day, and I'm at KAP Macs like a secondary school student.

Contemplating whether to head to Sentosa for a tan alone, but going alone is so boring.

Quiz

Yep this quiz is rather accurate, so take it if you like: http://www.quizbox.com/personality/test82.aspx

Those in red are accurate, what I bolded in red is super accurate!

Your view on yourself:

You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job.

The right job for you:

You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:

You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:

You are afraid of having no one to rely on in times of trouble. You don't ever want to be unable to take care of yourself. Independence is important to you.

Who is your true self:

You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

I'm about to be super random.

I WANNA GO DIVING.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR MY HAIR TO GROW LOOOONG.

I just saw a quote from bonnie blair and I really like it:

Winning doesn't mean being the best, it means that you're doing better than you've done before.

That's all folks.

Good food makes me happy :)

t i r e d

Oh man, I'm so tired!

It's been a busy week with today being the most hectic!
Some last minute work to rush, and I'm finally done.
It seems like I haven't stopped being busy since starting work. Hahaha...
Yesterday was a fun night out with the new staff though.

I'm super hungry right now, but I'm defintely more sleepy.
Thank goodness it's my offday tomorrow!

SLEEP makes me happy...

I decided to think of one thing everyday that makes me happy.

Today:
Off-day makes me happy! :)

Brewerkz

An overdose of X Golden at Kallang Brewerkz last Friday saw me puking, getting high and losing part of my memory. It was the drunkest I've ever got, and hopefully, will ever get... Although the best thing about it was that I didn't even feel nauseatic or the urge to vomit at all. The gunk just came out from my mouth ever so conveniently... Onto the table, into the jug, into the toilet bowl, onto the grass. That should be all.

Thought I'd have recovered from the mental abstaintion from beer, but just one pint of X Golden was more than enough for my taste buds at Clarke Quay Brewerkz yesterday. Or maybe it was just X Golden. I should have ordered something else. The Angel Hair Pasta was horrid, so horrid that both Mengzhi and I had 8/10 of the pasta untouched when our plates were cleared. DO NOT ORDER ANGEL HAIR PASTA AT BREWERKZ! No complaints about other food though, except that their steak could use some garnish. (At the moment I'm thinking, dayum, we should've took photos!!! Rahhh...)

That should keep me off Brewerkz for some time.

-

I keep seeing photos of myself with my short hair about 15 months ago and darn, I think I looked good! And so it's tempting to snip snip off my ponytail but I don't wanna wait eons for it to grow. I keep convincing myself that I should keep it longer and eventually perm it, or something, but I feel kinda fugly these days and I'm afraid this feeling will last longer than I like.

Haha, okay I should sleep! Instead of thinking about such junk, when there are better things to worry about, like having to wake early tomorrow to face a busy day. :)

Tired, busy, aching, but fun!

What a tiring few days it has been!! Been so busy that I'm losing track of time.

My shoulders, arms, thighs and calves are sore. Working for Zovb is indeed much more tiring than Combat Skirmish.

Working for the two are completely different experiences altogether, although the people you're dealing with are the same.

Zovb is more personal; you feel like you're actually having fun with the kids, but it's definitely not fun, IMO, to run and push the ball up and down the slope (despite the fact that it isn't very steep) for TWO STRAIGHT HOURS (!!!), like we did today. It's almost like an outdoor gym for people who are keen on body building. Hahaha... Yesterday was pretty fun though, as the group wasn't so big and things wrapped up within an hour.

Combat Skirmish has different levels to it. When you're a team leader, you might be a tad bored because all you do is count, and give short and simple instructions. Things get challenging when you're tasked as a session manager, and your job is to control the crowd and organize the whole event.

Both are great fun though, to me at least. Definitely my cup of tea. :)

Looking forward to the new staffs, staff outings, new activity (watch this space!) and more progress!

Ahhh.. So tired. Only had 3 hours of sleep last night :(

Caught the finals of Euro08 at ECP MacD's last night. We were playing Bridge most of the time (I love Bridge!) and I couldn't see the ball getting kicked around very well because I've got poor eyesight and we were damn far away from the telly. BUT!! Spain's passing is really amazing and I'm happy that Spain won :D I hope Fabulous Fabregas stays with Arsenal for as long as he's this good. Haha.

Ok, I should turn in early. GNight.

Help!!

My handphone can't slide open anymore! (I'm using a Samsung U700, which no longer looks as gorgeous as it used to be)

I placed it near super glue that I just removed from the fridge, and I think the condensation glued my phone together.
Sobs.

Now I can't dial any numbers, so I can't SMS.
This sucks...

What's for dinner?

Can't decide or don't know where to eat?

Take the wheel and stalk a random car.
It's quite exciting.

Anger

Boils everytime that issue is mentioned and I'm sick of that conversation.

I think I need alcohol to help me sleep, to help me stop thinking about it. You won't believe how angry I become just pondering to myself. I might be fucking ridiculous and paranoid, but whatever.

I could really use a getaway, but it's only 2 weeks into June.

Okay, here's looking forward to July. Hopefully we'll get to go diving.

Christianity

If 'god' was so powerful, why do natural disasters exist?
If 'god' was so powerful, why are 'christians' still depressed?
If 'god' was so powerful, why are there evil people?
If 'god' was so powerful, why is life unfair?
If 'god' was so powerful, why are there other religions?
If 'god' was so powerful, why don't ALL christians get what they want?
If 'god' was so powerful, why do some non-christians still get what they want?
If 'god' was so powerful, why the hell am I typing this?

If 'god' was so powerful, make me a christian.
Make EVERYONE a christian.

(Just in case any christians read this and is about to lecture me instead of give any reasonable and logical answers, shut up already.)

Cats/Humans

Had dinner out with my dad yesterday.

Saw a couple of cats around, which reminded me of Fluff, the cat in my ex-office. So I made a comment to my dad: "Cats are weird animals, very temperamental. One moment, they could be cosying up to you, and the next moment it might just scratch you when you wanna stroke it."

Then he said something which I thought made a lot of sense:

"Not just cats. All animals are like that. Even humans are like that."

Screw up

Haven't felt so shitty in a long time.
In fact, I wonder if I've ever felt as shitty as this.

Ever felt like you've given your all to deliver the best you can for the day, only to screw up elsewhere, and apologies and explanations are simply pointless and then you wish that time could just rewind, to the time when you brushed away your queries, taking for granted that things would go your way.

And then you think back about your decisions back then, and wish you stuck to what you really wanted, although you know at the back of your mind the way things are is ultimately inevitable.

There really isn't anything I can do, but hope that the best turns out from however bad the situation is.

Or maybe there is.

Money, Dirty Money

Everything in this world is driven by money. In the name of good, like education, lifestyle campaigns, or even charity. It's all about business, money-generating business. Hypocritical, if you ask me.

Money has become such a chain of digits that humans have become so senselessly obsessed with increasing the value of, forgetting the reason behind all these racing, chasing and accumulating of wealth.

I do miss how it used to be.

And I wonder if 'logical love' exists.

9 days in USA

Lots of pictures from the States!

My toiletries! Actually, I'm just showing off my Kodomo! Loved it when I was a kid... It smells so gooood... :D

Basically, the whole trip was lots of waiting and sleeping and flying. We spent the first 30 hours waiting: Waiting for our flights, waiting to arrive at our destination. And in total, we took NINE flights in a span of 9 days! Of course, the 9 flights includes the transits and domestic flights, but still!

This was our route:
Singapore > Narita, Japan > Los Angeles
Wait 5 hours for our domestic flight
Los Angeles > Denver > Omaha
Stayed 2 days
Omaha > Chicago
Stayed 1 day
Chicago > Denver > San Jose
Stayed 6 days
Los Angeles > Narita, Japan > Singapore

And so the story begins.

Our flight was at 6am in the morning, and so we're supposed to check in at 4am, right? We didn't wanna waste money taking cab or trouble people at such an unearthly hour, so we decided to check in at 12am to get intoxicated at Harry's!

But to our surprise when we arrived at the check-in counter at 12am, we weren't allowed to check in until 3am, so we were stranded at the airport with our luggages. So where the hell do we go and what the hell do we do from now till 3am?!

Headed to Cheers, got 6 large cans of Carlsberg, then to the viewing gallery. Watched La Bi Xiao Xin, read magazines, studied, talked, drank.

Our cosy little corner

Checked in at 3am finally, got some sushi, and found a place to watch soccer.. There was CL that day i think, I can't remember well now. Had another beer before boarding the flight and by the time the plane took off, I was sound asleep. Nice.

Narita Airport

Bad English on the menu

Had this really yummy dish when we transitted at Narita! Completely forgot to take photo of it... But it was rice with mushroom, beef, fishcake and a raw egg which we had to pour in and mix it all up! Yummmm to the max!! It was so good, that we had it again on our return trip, and we forgot to take a photo of it again because we couldn't wait to eat it! No joke.

The toilet had a bidet! It cleans your arse, not the toilet seat. I thought it was the latter at first because I've seen something like that in Barcelona 2 years ago.

LAX... was a disappointment! Don't we hear about it all the time and I've always thought that it'd be a huge and classy airport that is comparable to Singapore's Changi Airport. Amazingly, there is only one pathetic Starbucks from Terminal 1 to Terminal 4! But we had no choice but to wait there because we had a domestic flight to catch 5 hours later.

Brunch at this restaurant/cafe some 500m away from the airport.

View from the plane to Denver

Denver Airport. Better than LAX by a mile.

Finally we're in Omaha!!!!! Ok let's consider this Day 1, at Westroads Mall. A great place to shop! Hong and I went crazy shopping, poor jetlagged Josh had to follow us and carry our shopping bags for a good 4 hours at least. He volunteered for the second one actually. We didn't force him.

Mmmmmm... How yummy does this look? Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory sells apples with different kinds of chocolate toppings! Super yummy on first bite, but it's very gelat, we couldn't finish half the apple. But looking at the pictures now is really making me crave for it so badly! Ahhhh...

Victoria's Secret! Nah, it wasn't really close, there was a temporary stall somewhere else in the mall and we bought lots of Secret Garden stuff. So cheap. // And that's Josh with our shopping bags. We dramatized it lah actually. As if we were so mean to let him carry all our bags right? // Yingshi told us that Cheesecake Factory was a must-try! And so we did...

However, Hong and I weren't hungry at all after the chocolate-coated apple, so all we had was Key Lime Cheesecake. Fucking sour. That explains the last picture.

I think Josh had steak... Delicious, according to him. But I testify that the mash potatoes were superb!

Spot me in the reflection!

Day 2:

Hotel breakfast the next morning! Super yummy strawberry cheese spread! We spent the rest of our time in USA looking for it, but we couldn't find it. So sad...... :( // There was this machine for us to make our own waffles, so fun and easy!

Back in our room packing up! Loads of shopping. Wen's mess // Hong's mess // Josh (no) mess // My new undies from VS! :)

It was a rainy and cold day! Headed across the road from our hotel to a pub to kill time till our next flight. I almost froze my toes off because I was in slippers. How clever of me to have NOT brought a pair of shoes. I think we had 3 rounds of beers each. Brewburgers had SO MANY types of beer, we were spoilt for choice. Great place to chill at! Cold outside, warm inside, having ice cold beer. Sweet.

Ran back from Brewburgers! Can you tell how cold we were!? Hahahahah... And I dunno why Josh is like showing off his armpit. Maybe he's drunk? Hahahaha...

Arrived in Chicago O'hare Airport!

Collected the Ford Focus that we rented and started our night drive. Then, somewhere between Chicago and West Lafayette, we punctured our tyre once again. It was really a déjà vu from one year ago, when the 3 of us were in Australia, where we had 2 tyres punctured, a grand total of around AUD$2000 of fines and 3 traffic police stops in a span of 4 hours. Yes, we could hardly believe it too. It's probably the combination of these 3 beings, they're not meant to travel together smoothly.

Well, how the hell did we bust our tyre? Tell you what: Do NOT fully rely on GPS systems! Our stupid system told us to go onto a highway that was closed, but since the entrance to the highway wasn't fenced up, we tried our luck. We ended up on a deserted and rocky road and busted our tyre trying to get back onto the main road. (By the way, later on, when we got back onto the main road and tried to opt for an alternative route, the stupid GPS system took us to a U-turn and told us to go back onto the same highway! Fucking stupid! Some kind of alternative route...)

But it's alright, at least it was just 1 tyre right? And thank goodness we were covered by insurance... :) The spare tyre was much thinner than the original one, plus it was night and that it was left-hand-drive, so Josh refused to let us drive although he could barely stay awake. 1 hour into the drive, we convinced him to take a nap at a rest area on the highway. And then we ended up sleeping till 7am the next day. Last year, we spent our fateful night on the highway too!
Day 3:

Hong & I look like we just woke up, right? And Josh looks like he just came back from robbing/burglaring. Hahahaha...

But if not for that longer than expected nap, we wouldn't have seen such a beautiful sun rise. :)

Finally arriving in West Lafayette 9 hours after setting off! On a good day we would have arrived in 3 hours. LOL.

That's me driving! Got used to the left-hand-drive pretty quick. // My very cute McGirdles, yummy too // Tried to get our tyre replaced, but they didn't have the one that we needed. Just as well, money saved.

The drive back to Chicago

At Chicago Midway Airport. Josh had Chinese food which came with this fortune cookie.

And we're in San Jose! Rented another car, a Chrysler PT Cruiser (I kinda like that car, it has that classy and vintage feel to it!) , and busted yet ANOTHER tyre! What the hell, right? Here's the full story:

Arrived late in San Jose, drove to my aunt's place 20 minutes away from the airport. We were trying to open the trunk of the car to get our luggages out, by pulling all possible latches or levers, not knowing that it worked with an automatic sensor. And then we accidentally opened the bonnet of the car, which we had problems closing it later. Since it was so dark and cold outside, we decided to fix it the next morning.

Day 4:

We still couldn't open it the next morning, so we thought, oh well, the airport is just 20 minutes away, let's just drive back and get it fixed just in case. When we arrived at the airport, we turned in one turn too early, which was the entrance to another car rental company, so we just reversed out, not noticing a sign nearby that said "DO NOT REVERSE, SEVERE TYRE DAMAGE". So guess what? Our tyre was damaged severely by some spikes on the ground. Never mind lah huh, at least it's a bright and sunny day, and at least we're at the car rental place itself! Better than late at night, along the highway, right?

The moment we got off the car, we told the guy that we couldn't close our bonnet. So he lifted up the cover, slammed it down lightly, and it latched itself back. Just like that. Didn't we do exactly the same thing and it didn't work!?!? So it's like, we went to the airport, only to bust a tyre. Thank goodness we were covered by insurance again! We're very, very lucky this time round. Anyway, we got another PT Cruiser in exchange.

Okay! Headed to San Francisco. We were going on the Alcatraz Tour in the evening, so we went to the area early to sight-see a bit.

The Alcatraz!

I must say the Night Tour was really good. It sounds scary but it's not. It's just very interesting, as they covered some of the planned escapes, and even audio interviews of ex-inmates.

The bottom two pictures: a bar spreader used for an escape which failed // the cracks and holes made by explosives that were dropped from the top of the building by external back ups when inmates were trying to escape.

The Command Centre

Another escape plan: 3 inmates made dummy heads and escaped in the middle of the night. Apparently, they scraped their way through the wall of the cells using metal SPOONS. They were never found.

Families of the officers working on the Alcatraz actually lived on the rock as well. It's actually quite pleasant if you don't think about the prisoners living in the next block.

The first picture: The silhouettes of the kitchen knives were painted, so that if any of the knives were missing or out of place, the officers would notice asap.

After the Alcatraz Tour, we headed to the Rainforest Cafe at Fisherman's Wharf!

That place was full of energy man. Sounds of monkeys and birds all the time, occasional sounds of thunderstorm and flashing lights to simulate lightning, then the animals all come alive and you hear elephants and stampede. The food though, was just so-so. It's a really popular spot for celebrating birthdays. We heard at least 6 birthday songs within the 90 minutes we were there. Very well-marketed and packaged. Very well-packaged and marketed.

Headed to Ripley's Believe it or Not! after dinner. Nothing really interesting, only these two that I thought were worth taking a second look:
Day 5:
We went for a 5 hour Wine Tour to start our day off. But just like last year, we forgot to bring our camera for our wine tour! But anyways, I DO NOT recommend Santa Cruz Mountain Wine Tours at all because all they did was pick us up from our location, send us to a winery, leave us there, and when we're done at that winery, they send us to another! I mean, it was just chauffeur services, but it cost us USD$80 per pax! They got to at least entertain us a bit, right? Like talk to us more, recommend some stuff, or something! Another thing: We had to pay for our own wine-tasting fees at every winery! Such a disappointment... At first, I was expecting really good service, because the person who liased with me over phone and e-mail was really helpful and sincere, but it was the complete opposite! Sigh... Fine, at least we got lots of wine, so it was a good trip afterall.

Anyway... After the Wine Tour, we visited the Winchester Mystery House.
Don't know why but I was so static-ful! Hahaha.

To be honest, the tour wasn't as interesting as it sounds, or as mysterious as they make it seem to be. It was just a very large house that was built kind of like a maze. I don't know if it's because the guide that we had spoke in a very monotonous fashion, but I was looking forward to the end of the tour half way through.

Day 6:
Took a 7 hour night drive from Los Altos to Malibu! Josh is damn hero, he drove non-stop! I slept quite a bit because I had the most spacious seat of all, the back of the car! When the sun came peeking, I whipped out my camera and couldn't stop snapping. The scenery is just damn beautiful.

I love silhouette pictures!!! I shall compile all the nice sillhouette photos that I have some day. :D

We stopped by Santa Barbara for breakfast and I fell in love with that town. It's sooo pretty and clean!
Spot me new shoes!

At a nice cosy little cafe for breakfast. The fireplace was real!

Crazy Josh fooling around with the statues.

Alright! Back en route to Malibu!

The scenery was so pretty that we couldn't resist stopping for a picture!
Lunch at Malibu before checking in to our hotel

Finally checked in!
Hong and I wanted SO BADLY to get a tan!! The beach was too windy for us to be just wearing bikini, so we went to the hotel poolside. After 15 minutes, we found it too cold as there was still wind occasionally which seemed to be getting more frequent, so we went back to our room balcony. I think I lay there for 90 minutes, but I didn't get tanned at all :( The hotel bed was super shiok, shiok until Josh didn't even bother to get off the bed after showering right after checking in; shiok until Hong and I fell asleep at 6:30pm and forgot to wake up for dinner!

Day 7:

Hotel breakfast! These are the BEST potatoes I've ever had in my entire life, I am serious. And my mushroom cheese avacado omelette was damn good too.

Went for a hike after breakfast. There were wild rabbits hopping around!! So cute, right?

Reached the top of the cliff and was greeted by breathtaking scenery. We heard sounds of seals, and I was like "Is that really a seal?" Looked down into the water, omgosh, there really are seals! Nature at it's best, man!

Gorgeous view!

Universal Studios!!!

We went for an iFly experience on the Universal Studios CityWalk, which got me really excited before actually doing it. But it is definitely overrated. Don't really remember how much I paid for it, but no, it's not worth the money. I was only in that tunnel for 60 seconds, and the instructor was holding on to me for 59 seconds.

Ok it is definitely much more interesting than it looks. We just didn't take many photos. You can definitely complete the whole of Universal Studios in one day though, it's quite a small place... That's if you've got the front-line pass like we did. Just get the front-line pass man, it's just an additional $30 and you're a King. Why not?

Dinner at Karl Strauss
Almost identical concept to Singapore's Brewerkz. We all liked their Stargazer IPA. Their jug (they call it pitcher) was HEEUGE.

Day 8:
We went on the Starline Grand Tour of LA. Extremely Boring. The first hour was still bearable, but the subsequent 4 hours was hypnotic.

Farmers Market

Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Johnny Depp, Marilyn Monroe & Matt Damon's hand and footprints. BIG deal.

Kodak Theatre. A pretty good place to shop, dine & wine
(we bought somemore wines here).

Koji's for shabu-shabu dinner. The food was not as yummy as it looks. You know in Singapore, whatever steamboat that we eat, the soup has flavour for sure, right? This one is just plain water! Imagine how bland it was.

Day 9:

Returning our car at the airport!Look at what a bad state it was in! The back of the car is SO DUSTY...

And that sums up our USA trip...
